Onward Pilgrim Present a Tribute to Edgar Allan Poe

We just finished an entire album worth of material dedicated to the man, the myth, the legend Edgar Cheaply! "Wait? Edgar Cheaply. Who is that?" Edgar Cheaply is the amalgamation of the life, lies, and literature of Edgar Allan Poe. Protagonist Edgar Cheaply's life is simply tragic.. Baby Edgar was born and quickly lost David and Elizabeth to the Red Death(an extremely malicious strain of Tuberculosis). Orphaned by his parents and acquired the Allans, Edgar is the wealthy albatross they had been waiting for. After taking control of the Cheaply family fortune they immediately ship young Edgar off to England for his schooling. He never registers for classes, and takes his education from the horrors of the world. After 5 years he returns home much to the dismay of the Allans. Edgar attempts college but is forced to withdraw due to lack of funding from the Allans. He instead opts to join the army, and after a few years is given the boot for reasons unasked and untold. Edgar's life is complicated even more when he's forced to marry his young cousin Lenore to secure the family fortune. Lenore in turn spreads malicious rumours of her husband about the town while a man Named Ludwig Griswold seeks to take Edgars position as top editor as black cat publishing. Its a twisted tale that leaves poor Edgar face down in the gutter with someone else's clothes on, dead as a door nail. This album is an eccentric, eclectic, and downright evil batch of songs that encompasses some of Poe's best work and some of our's as well.

Two new records in the works!

Hey, we've been really busy over the past six months. We've been working on two (count em) two records. One is even concept-ish! The first thing we're going to release is a project of songs based on the stories of edgar allen poe featuring artwork by the fabulous Anna Murphy. Tales included will be some of Poe's best work including " Murders in the Rue Morgue" "The Fall of the House of Usher" "The Tell Tale Heart", and more! We've got ten tracks recorded but we might trim it to an Ep. These songs will be made public come October. We've also got another LP we've been working on at a studio in Louisville, Ky. We're fine tuning these songs to perfection before they see the light of day. Almost all of the music is done just waiting to finish up vocals and get to mixing.

Our Cd release show is gonna be feb 7th @ Cosmic Charlies in lexington. The show is sponsored by WRFL 88.1 F.M. It's 5bucks at the door ($5 sur charge if under 21). Joining us on stage will be The Fanged Robot and Stampede. We're gonna have shirts and cd's as well as some records from our back catalog. We've got some tricks up our sleeves, and by tricks I mean cellos and trombones and banjos(Oh My!). So you gotta see this one!!!!
